In today's HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED HOLY BIBLE TEXT, we see the beloved greatest Prophet, John the Baptist, while Baptizing, no doubt, Preaching the Gospel of Repentance when some came to him complaining that Our BLESSED CRUCIFIED {JOHN 19:30} AND RESURRECTED {JOHN 20} LORD AND GOD, JESUS CHRIST {JOHN 20:28}, WHO he Baptized was now BAPTIZING and all men were coming to HIM {JOHN 3:26}.
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. - JOHN 3:26
Here in lies the gist of Today's VERSE. John responded by saying that JESUS IS THE BRIDEGROOM, and John compares himself as the 'GROOM'S Best Man or friend in this context, who is joyful just to hear his MASTER'S VOICE {JOHN 3:29}.
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: - LUKE 22:15
Now you may recall that before JESUS' DEATH {MARK 15} AND RESURRECTION {MARK 16}, WHILE IN THE Upper Room with HIS BELOVED Disciples for the "LAST SUPPER {LUKE 22:15}" COMMANDED HIS Disciples and Us that HE no longer Calls us HIS servants, for the servant knoweth not what his Lord or Master doeth {JOHN 15:15, HOLY BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION, AND THE AMPLIFIED CLASSIC}, but HE HAS CALLED them friends with one Commandment that they would do whatever HE COMMANDED them.
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: - JOHN 15:15
So, my "dear friend {3 JOHN 1}", you may think that God doesn't speak as HE DID In the Days that Our HOLY BIBLE Was Written, but that is simply not true. HE STILL SPEAKS. Sometimes it's a thought, that we know we aren't wise enough to think of ourselves. Other times it may be what a friend speaks to you, as with my reading one of the Evangelist Joyce Meyer's books, and my wife said three words that I'd just read on a particular page.
And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. - 1 KINGS 19:12
JESUS CAN AND DOES AT Times speak audibly, or with a "still small voice {1 KINGS 19:12}." However, we can never go wrong by Hearing from HIM when we read through the HOLY PAGES OF THE HOLY BIBLE, KNOWING THAT IT'S FLAWLESS and IT IS THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF THE LORD JESUS {ACTS 20:20-27} FROM THE FIRST BOOK OF MOSES CALLED GENESIS THAT BEGINS "In the beginning God.....{GENESIS 1:1}" to the last words of THE HOLY BIBLE, "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people.....{REVELATION 22:21}."
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. - MARK 1:24
My "dear friend {3 JOHN 1}", IN JESUS, when we understand that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God {ROMANS 10:17}. This means that we must continue to hear and hear continually Anointed Preachers of the WORD OF GOD, THE HOLY BIBLE, and consistently read our HOLY BIBLE Daily.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - ACTS 2:38
And ".....when this happens (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)" we will hear Our BEST FRIEND JESUS OF NAZARETH {MARK 1:24}THE BRIDEGROOM {MATTHEW 9:15}, BELIEVING What we hear and our JOY, as WITH WHAT JESUS SAYS MAY BE COMPLETE {JOHN 14:11}. IN JESUS' NAME {ACTS 2:38}. AMEN. "Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. {1 JOHN 5:21}" "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen. {REVELATION 22:21}"
