"Greatness". What does that word entail? Well as a youth growing up in the 1980's many would agree that Michael Jeffrey Jordan was a "great" American Basketball player. Others will recall Deon Sanders of the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders (there's a recent Name change) being a "great" American Football player.
And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. - LUKE 23:33
Although, I'm certain you can name many sports players, actors, Gospel singers, and other persons in history that have been labeled "great" concerning a certain vocation or job title. But what is true "Greatness?"
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. - HEBREWS 9:22
Well, my "dear friend {3 JOHN 1}" the question that now must be associated with the word "greatness" is now "what is greatness?", but in fact and truth "Who is greatness". That "WHO" IS NONE OTHER THAN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, For just the totality of HIMSELF, HIS HOLY NAME, HIS DEATH {JOHN 19:30} AND RESURRECTION {JOHN 20:28-30}, PROCURING Our ETERNAL FORGIVENESS BY THE SHEDDING OF HIS PERFECT, sinless, BLOOD {HEBREWS 9:22} ON THE ALTAR OF CALVARY'S CROSS {LUKE 23:33}, IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN, EVEN BEFORE HIS Extra-ordinary Creation, truly "GREAT" PROCLAIMING A GRACE {EPHESIANS 2:8-9} AND GREATNESS {MARK 15, MARK 16} THAT FAR EXCEEDS anything humanly able to fathom.

So, my "dear friend {1 JOHN 5:21}", when we look faithfully unto JESUS, THE PIONEER OR PERFECTER OF Our Faith {HEBREWS 12:2-3}, as HIMSELF BEING GREAT, and showing forth THE UNPARALLELED LOVE AND MERCY SHOWN FORTH AT HIS CROSS {MATTHEW 27} AND RESURRECTION {MATTHEW 28}, we will more readily and humbly understand that we of in and of ourselves nothing, even less than nothing.
This is why our ETERNAL SALVATION is of no merit of ourselves, but it is BY Grace we have been Saved, through faith and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any should boast {EPHESIANS 2:8-9}. IN JESUS' NAME!!!!! "Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. {1 JOHN 5:21}" "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen. {REVELATION 22:21}"
